Mars: Our scale means we can make a real difference to gender equality
Mars’s global marketing vice-president, Michele Oliver, says the initiative is not a competitive play, but part of a wider ambition to drive change.
FMCG giant Mars believes it is well placed as a business to drive change at scale when it comes to advancing gender equality, something it says has been set back 25 years by the coronavirus pandemic.
Through the launch of its #HereToBeHeard campaign, the brand aims to elevate the voices of women from all intersections of race, age, sexuality, religion and ability, with the objective of shaping a more inclusive business environment and a world where all women can thrive.
“This isn’t a competitive play. Lots of corporations now are really leaning in to the fact that with the scale we have we can make a massive difference,” says Mars’s global marketing vice-president, Michele Oliver, talking to Marketing Week.
